Bruce Macpherson, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP, is a Principal and Sector Leader at HED, guiding projects across healthcare and senior housing with a focus on integrity, clarity, and long-term value.
With more than 30 years in architectural practice, Bruce leads teams through every aspect of project development, from concept through delivery. A recognized voice in the regulatory space, Bruce has played an instrumental role in shaping California healthcare legislation and building codes. Appointed to the Hospital Building and Safety Board (HBSB) in 2014, he went on to serve as Chairman for four years, including leading the Administrative Process & Code Change Committee. He has also contributed as a stakeholder in rewriting OSHPD 3 regulations, bringing meaningful reform to healthcare facility design standards. At HED, Bruce’s leadership is defined by his hands-on approach, technical insight, and commitment to improving the systems that support care, community, and the human experience.
